In our society of charity and welfare, which are good things, some of us have come to think because I am in need, someone MUST give me what I need. I have a right to be taken care of. I worry about this, not because I don’t do charity work, or contribute to the welfare of people around me, but the attitude has seeped into our whole way of living. Fragmentation is a growing concern in our world. It’s not new. It sometimes seems to me we’re not capable of accepting the whole truth all the time. It’s just too overwhelming. To know the whole truth is a lifetime quest both secular and spiritual.
