I Deserve This
Deuteronomy 9:4 When the Lord has done this for you, don’t say in your hearts, “The Lord has given us this land because we are such good people!” This concept came up in a Bible study lately. We get to the point where we feel we deserve a certain level of God’s blessings. We forget God’s grace comes from His compassion.

Searching For Good
This proverb caught my eye in its contrast between the way good and evil behaves toward people. Good holds out rewards, while evil sucks us in. Proverbs 11:27 If you search for good, you will find favor: but if you search for evil, it will find you. What if good (people, churches, institutions) rushed out to ‘suck in’ people who are looking for good like evil rushes out to ‘suck in’ anyone who goes looking for evil?

Life’s Symbol
A scientist’s statement about the Bible’s science being dependable sent me down a whole new line of thought. He found Lev. 17:11 to be confirmation for his search. “The life of a creature is in its blood.” And we know it as symbolic and reality today.
