An Ungratefully Received Gift
I was again reminded so much of our life needs to be based on being grateful to God, even when it’s not obvious. A book called “One Thousand Gifts” reminds us even our salvation is based on first believing God sent Jesus and being thankful for the sacrifice Jesus made. I don’t know I have looked at it that way before. I have had a bit of a problem lately with worry and trust and being grateful….

The Past Is Gone, But…?
Yeah, sure, the past is gone and tomorrow never comes, so just be in the moment…. live for today. In a sense that is true. But somehow the richness of life is lost when we try so hard to put away all the past. As Christians the past can become a foundation. The reminder of God’s work in the past, and steadfastness in the present and future. And what about the people and places that have shaped us into the tool God uses today?

“Whatever….”
The new year does something to us. It stirs something in us. We always have hope for something new, even if we are doing the same things. I don’t know why we think this will magically happen. I decided to go a different direction and say ‘whatever’ to God. But it’s not quite the disconnect we mean when we say “whatever” to our mothers…..

The Spirit of Thankfulness
